Thanks, Patty, for this most insightful observation on Frey vs. Frey in the Fiction vs. Nonfiction Smackdown.

Patty writes, "You know what I think? Frey (the commentator) doesn't really understand narrative non-fiction at all. It seems a common (mis)assumption that "plot" in non-fiction is equal to the life -- that plot exists already and so then non-fiction is simply a matter of transcription.  Which we know isn't true."
